A message from the Executive Director, Dr. Katie Falwell
Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics conducted an exhaustive review of schools in the Northeast Florida serving children with language, learning, behavioral, and other social needs. We determined that there are no programs locally available that offer a solid academic foundation that includes both educational and therapeutic services. Our team researched the best practices of existing educational programs and private schools throughout the country. The Keystone Academy combines those best practices with the expertise of Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics to form the only clinic-based school for children with exceptional needs in the greater Jacksonville area. We currently serve students from 5 surrounding counties.
The Keystone Academy offers a nurturing and protective academic setting where children are challenged to reach their full potential in a highly supportive atmosphere. We believe that labels should not define a child, but rather assist in determining the best educational and clinical services required to help them achieve the highest level of development.
Our primary goal is to educate children to the most rigorous standards while offering an individualized curriculum in which they advance at their own pace. It is so rewarding to see students who were once frustrated and limited by their academic placements finally experience success and achieve new levels of personal and educational achievement.
