Services
Summary
In addition to the Academy, Keystone offers a wide range of services designed to help children achieve their greatest potential. We offer comprehensive support for families, teachers, and specialists, enabling them to be more skilled and effective mentors to children with learning and behavioral challenges. Regardless of your child's school enrollment, the wide range of Keystone services can make an extraordinary differences in your life.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy promotes independence, enhances development, and facilitates the natural maturation of skills for daily living. Our therapists are specifically trained to address the social, emotional, and physiological effects of illness and injury. Goals for treatment include social interaction, sensory integration, fine/gross motor skills, and classroom performance. Services include evaluation, treatment, and consultation that are conducted through individual sessions.
Speech and Language Therapy
The Speech-Language department offers individual evaluation and treatment. Our team focuses on language-learning disabilities and improving all aspects of communication. This includes comprehension, expression, sound production, and pragmatics. Speech therapy may include sign language or the use of picture symbols. Additionally, our department has received specialized training in PROMPT, which is utilized for children diagnosed with moderate to severe speech production disorders. For more information please visit The PROMPT Institute.
Feeding Therapy
A child diagnosed with a feeding disorder does not consume enough calories to gain weight or grow naturally. Additionally, children may develop such a restricted food repertoire by only consuming a few foods that nutrition is compromised. A child with a feeding disorder may completely avoid entire food groups, textures, colors, or liquids. As a result, proper development is affected and these children are at greater risk for delays in physical and cognitive development. Behavioral problems may include tantrums at mealtime, meal refusal, oral motor/sensory problems, or g/ng tube dependence. Evaluation, treatment, and training are conducted in both the clinic and home settings for generalization.
Psychological Services
Academic struggles can lead to poor self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, behavioral challenges can prevent learning opportunities from occurring in the educational setting. Social withdrawal is a common occurrence as well in children with learning and behavioral challenges. We offer psychoeducational assessment and therapy for children and their families. Our psychologists, mental health counselors, social workers, and behavior analysts are experienced in working with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
ABA Therapy
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is an evidence-based intervention for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. Every aspect of intervention is customized to each learner's skills, needs, interests, preferences, and family situation. For those reasons, an ABA program for one learner might look somewhat different than a program for another learner. Quality ABA programs address a wide range of skill areas, but the focus is always on the individual learner, so goals vary from learner to learner, depending on age, level of functioning, family needs and interests. ABA therapy is heralded as the hallmark treatment for children diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Endorsements include:
